Chamber Music Academy in Tokyo 2024: Concerts and public lessons by students

In order to discover young performers, Music Dialogue has been holding chamber music seminars in two locations, Tokyo since 2017 and Kyoto since 2021, creating opportunities for young performers to make great strides. In 2, the chamber music seminar will start in Kyoto in January, and the Tokyo one will be held in February.

The Chamber Music Academy is headed by Heiichiro Oyama (Artistic Director of Music Dialogue), who has been active both in Japan and abroad as a violist and conductor, and the instructor will be Fumie Kato (MD Artist), a cellist who is active as a soloist and chamber musician.

At the final concert, the students, who have undergone an intensive music-making process from morning to night over the three days, will demonstrate their growth to the audience. We hope you will enjoy an exciting performance that combines the power of the students, who are expected to lead the classical music world in the future, with the skilled guidance of the instructors.

In addition, the open lessons are free to attend, so that music college students and students studying musical instruments can easily attend. (Even for free student tickets, you must apply in advance. There is a limit to the number of tickets. Please present your student ID at the venue on the day.)

Chamber Music Academy in Tokyo

This program provides an opportunity for participants to experience the process of music creation at an international level by performing chamber music with Heiichiro Oyama (Artistic Director of Music Dialogue), a conductor and violist who has served as music director and principal player at various orchestras and music festivals around the world and who has also mentored many world-class performers for many years.
