Chamber Music School in Kyoto 2025 Concerts and public lessons by students
This event has ended

Music Dialogue has been holding this style of seminar in Tokyo, Akita and other locations since 2015, and students have commented each time that, "Compared to regular one-on-one lessons or chamber music coaching, I get much more stimulation and learn a lot from this," and "Professor Ohyama, who is also a conductor, not only teaches me performance technique, but also helps me realize the elements necessary for growing as a musician, such as how to deeply read sheet music and how to strategize as a group when playing in an ensemble. I learned a lot from the daily rehearsals."
Hanako Tanimoto (Music Dialogue artist), a violinist who is active mainly in solo and chamber music, will also be the instructor for this chamber music seminar. Through intensive rehearsals from morning to night for three days, you will be able to witness the significant changes that take place in the students' lives.
Watching a performance change dramatically under precise instruction is a different kind of enjoyment from listening to a completed performance. I am also confident that aspiring musicians and music lovers who want to improve their performance will be able to gain many hints just like the students. In particular, we have made the lectures free of charge to make it easier for students of music universities and students studying musical instruments to attend (advance registration is required).
We hope you will enjoy seeing the many, often unseen, essential aspects of music-making, and watching young musicians grow by absorbing these insights.

With the aim of discovering young performers in the Kansai region, Music Dialogue also launched a chamber music academy in Kyoto in 2021. By providing a rare opportunity in the Kansai region to learn chamber music in depth, we hope to create an opportunity for young performers to take a big leap forward.
