Music Dialogue Discovery Series 2025-2026 September Performances

The series consists of two parts: a "public rehearsal with subtitled commentary," which gives an open opportunity to see up-and-coming young performers and experienced performers creating music, and a "main performance." As in last year, there will be four performances throughout 2.
It is also possible to attend just the rehearsal or just the main performance.
At the end of every performance there will be a "dialogue moment" between the audience and the performers, allowing us to discover new ways to enjoy music from various angles.
In the 2025/26 Discovery Series, we will explore with you how modern Western music owes much to the traditions of people who lived in languages other than German, Italian, and French through the works of composers from various countries. Romania, Hungary, Czech Republic, Norway, England... Enjoy discovering unexpected and fulfilling works, unexpected aspects of the works of famous composers, and various discoveries along with the charm of the performance.
Two masters who were active in Austria-Hungary, a melting pot of many ethnicities, have created a masterpiece in the German-speaking world. What kind of world will emerge when the two pieces are played side by side through the music composed by these six masters?

Before the main program on Sunday, December 12th, we will add a string quintet by Young Artists (graduates of the school) + Heiichiro Oyama. We would like to use this opportunity to introduce to you the wonderful young musicians who have taken the chamber music classes in Tokyo and Kyoto.

This series will be divided into two parts: an "open rehearsal" where you can see young and experienced musicians creating music together, and a "main performance" (you can choose to attend only one of them). At the end of every performance, there will be a "conversation time" between the audience and the musicians, allowing you to enjoy a peaceful time that is different from the performance. We look forward to welcoming everyone, from those well versed in music to beginners, to this opportunity to experience the charm and joy of chamber music to the fullest.
