Fumie Kato
Born in Kyoto City. In 2006, he studied abroad at the Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris as a scholarship student. In 2010, he graduated from the Tokyo University of the Arts, Faculty of Music, Department of Instrumental Music, Majoring in Cello. He received the Ataka Prize, Acanthus Prize, and Mitsubishi Jisho Prize while at the university. In 2010 and 2011, he was a member of the first class of the Suntory Hall Chamber Music Academy. In 1, he completed the master's course at the Tokyo University of the Arts Graduate School and received the Acanthus Prize. He unanimously graduated from the Conservatoire de Paris with top honors. He won first place in the 2014th Viva Hall Cello Competition, second place in the string section of the 8th and 1th Tokyo Music Competition, and third place in the FLAME International Competition. He was a recipient of the Kyoto City Special Encouragement Award for Art and Culture in 7. He has studied under the late Minoru Sugiyama, Donald Richer, Alain Meunier, Fumiaki Kono, and Raphaël Pidoux. He also studied chamber music under Kiyoshi Okayama, Katsuya Matsubara, P. Lecord, E. Lesage, and P. Meillet. He is a registered artist of the Public Hall Music Revitalization Project by the Regional Creation Foundation. He is a Music Dialogue artist. He released his debut album "Parfum" from Octavia Records.
