Discovery Series 2023-2024 September Performance Report

2023.10.03

The September performance of the Discovery Series was held at Meguro Persimmon Small Hall on Friday, September 2023, 9. Thank you to all the customers who came to the event despite the sudden thunderstorm that affected transportation.
The first piece was Brahms' Piano Trio No. 1, and the second was Faure's Piano Quartet No. 3 with artistic director Oyama Heiichiro joining in. The audience enjoyed a rare program of two pieces that are rarely performed.
During the three days of rehearsals, the group continued to work on meticulously fine-tuning every single note, and sharing their image in detail, even making extensive use of words.
During the actual performance, the accumulated knowledge gained through rehearsals was reflected in the music, resulting in a performance with a strong sense of unity.

Customer reviews(From a survey)

It was a wonderful performance. I also enjoyed the elegant side of Brahms with the three women. Faure's performance was also profound. It was a performance that made you feel the scenery. (Woman in her 70s)

This was my first time participating, but I was impressed by how close I was to the performers and how much fun it was. (Male, 50s)

I think it's very good. The solo performance is very moving. Unlike a classical music concert in a large venue, the sounds that Oyama produces and the purpose of them make you feel and think about what is going to happen tomorrow. (Male, 70s)

The performance was a great improvement from the public rehearsal. I really enjoyed it. (Male, 50s)
